So you do what?
When I decided to major in Graphic Design at the tender age of 15, I didn’t really know what I was getting myself in to. This was evidenced by the crap I produced my first year in art school. My passion for art was there but I didn’t quite know how to make my work look polished. In the end, I stuck with it (after much introspection and debate about other possible majors), made it out of art school alive, and somehow got hired in San Francisco. And now the only problem I run into these days is how do I answer the question “What is Graphic Design”?

It seems simple right but finding a succinct description has not been that easy. In college, a classmate created a Thesis project around that very question and won an award for it. I happened upon this explanation on Design Observer and found it very interesting. Much better than I could do so I’ll end my blah blah there so you can read here.
